(05/01/2013) Where Are You Going?

forest path

Step by step one at a time
The easiest route that you will find
Takes you not on paths you know
And never where you think you’ll go.

It takes you through the underbrush
The cold white waters sudden rush
Through lakes and streams and mountain paths
But never lets you see the past.

It takes thorough the morning fog
And even through the soggy bog
And the forest dense with redwood trees
Where even the path cannot be seen.

Through caves a caverns all alike
Through alley ways in dead of night
But follow it and you will know
All the places that you could go.

(04/01/2013) Broken Memories

So for today’s poem I decided to write in a form I’ve never used before. The form for this one is the Kyrielle Sonnet. You can read more about it by clicking on it. I won’t bore you before the poem so read on…

broken glass

A sea of broken memories
Like shattered glass they come to me
The photographs that I’ve seen fall
Fragmented pictures on the wall.

If nothing else they bring to life
The better times when things were nice
Over again I hear them call
Fragmented pictures on the wall.

And when it’s time for me to die
I don’t want anyone to cry
The better times should be recalled
Fragmented pictures on the wall.

A sea of broken memories
Fragmented pictures on the wall.

Time Is No Healer

heart on ice

They say time heals all wounds
But it also leaves it’s scar
So as time passes and you heal
Will you ask “How far?”

How far will you go
To let time play its part
Knowing that which heals you
May not heal your heart.

Time can heal broken bones
And cuts and scrapes alike
But true pain comes from within
The cuts beyond your sight.

There is no cure for real pain
You only learn to cope
Through distractions or through isolation
Time can only restore hope.

(03/01/2013) Hindsight

blue eye

I’ve heard it said
now and again
That hindsight is twenty-twenty.

And I just blink
and start to think
What if foresight had vision plenty?

No more mistakes
Hearts wouldn’t break
And confidence goes on the rise.

Ultimately
I think it would lead
To our own untimely demise.

All in good show
Our egos would grow
With everything perfectly planned

We’d have our wish
We’d all be rich
We could all lounge around in the sand.

But we would get sick
of our lives real quick
If nothing came as a surprise.

Wouldn’t it be fun
To sit in the sun
With just a blank stare in our eyes.

Dreams

Reblogged from :

Obstacles and dreams go hand-in-hand,

to achieve them means to overcome.

those who succeed are those that stand,

not just sit waiting for them to come.

Stand on the mountain and own your self,

and leap to a life of achievement.

fears and snubs won’t keep it on the shelf,

When the passion for it can’t be pent.

Take the plunge, it’s time to shine.

this is for them

Reblogged from Bitter over someone:

this is for the people who still carry the past on their shoulders they save the old times in the bags of their eyes the memorabilia in the slouch of their walks the ones who refuse compassion from others because they still wait for the ones who left this is for the ones who haul and hoist soundlessly they call us a million names the anonymous the underground the diaphanous it goes on and on we never stop nothing will ever stop will it, love?

2012 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 2,700 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 5 years to get that many views.

Click here to see the complete report.
