It Was One

Someone once said
“I miss who you were.”
And I doubted myself
I wasn’t so sure.
I began then to try
To be like back when
Because one did not like
The way I was then.
It is now I know why
One spoke as one did
Because one did not like
The person I hid.
One liked me better
When I acted aloof
One couldn’t handle
The invisible truth.
I won’t live the lie
That says that I’m fine
If one can’t accept that,
One is not worth my time.
